Today's vote to acquire Red Lion Christian Academy was passed with a 93% yes by our congregation.

Red Lion Acquisition
On Sunday November 13th the congregation of the Red Lion Evangelical Free Church voted 124-5 to accept the terms of the contract for us to acquire the Red Lion Evangelical Association (their legal entity). This effectively tosses the ball into our court. Now we must decide whether or not we want to pursue the acquisition. In order to determine this we will follow this protocol:

First, the session will make a recommendation to you. On Monday November 14th the Glasgow session convened to receive the report from the Due Diligence Committee. This committee did an outstanding job to date and laid out all of the pros and cons of this deal. After considerable discussion, your session voted UNANIMOUSLY on the following motion:

“The session of the Glasgow Reformed Presbyterian Church recommends to the membership that the acquisition of the Red Lion Evangelical Association proceed according to the terms of the contract.”

Second, informational gatherings have been held during regular scheduled ministry meetings over the last week. These have been a great time of discussion with our people about exactly what is at stake and how we are proceeding. 

Third, we will meet at the Red Lion facility on Saturday, November 19th at 6pm so that you may see exactly what it is you are being asked to acquire. This will be the time for you to ask any and all questions that remain. More details will follow.

Fourth, we will vote on the session’s recommendation on Sunday, November 20th after the morning worship service.

Fifth, we will maintain a document library of all the information we can gather on this website for you to refer to. This library will contain, pictures of the Red Lion campus, a operations financial summary for Red Lion, a letter from our senior pastor to the session about his recommendation, a summary of where we find ourselves from one of our elders, and FAQ document comprised of questions from our congregational meeting on September 23rd as well as questions we have received since that time. All these documents can be found in the menu to the right.
